Memorizing Psalm 56:3-4 with Your Children
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust.
Psalm 56:3-4
If you’re following the ABC Memory Series then I’m so glad you’ve made it this far! Psalm 56:3-4 was one of my children’s favorite.
YouTube VidEO for kids memory verse
This video for verse W gives comfort to children. A lot of children have difficulties at nighttime so it was comforting for my children and they wanted to watch it multiple times. And as a result, they learned the verse very easily.

The song above came from the Hide ‘Em In Your Heart album by Steve Green. I highly suggest Steve Green’s whole CD. Every song is just like the video above in the fact that it simply sings scripture in a way that your children will be excited to learn the verse.

Every night before bedtime rehearse the verse to the tune above. After about a week, you should both have it memorized. Don’t worry if it takes longer!
children’s Lesson for psalm 56:3-4
To discuss with your kids the meaning of Psalm 56:3-4, watch the YouTube video above and ask them what scares them? When can they trust God and call out to Him?
The video gives a good example of being afraid at night which you can use as a starting point but see if your kids can name other times. Use the times they bring up to discuss how they can trust God through it.
