With two verses under our belt, we are ready for our “C Verse”.  This is one every parent can use!

Ephesians 6:1 says “Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.“

When repeating this verse to my children, even four years later they immediately know I’m quoting the Bible after our year memorizing Bible verses.

To put the verse into action, talk about how children obeying their parents is modeling how all of God’s children are to obey Him. Then play some fun games about obedience. Some ideas are:
• Simon Says
• Follow the Leader
• Mother May I
• Red Light, Green Light

Learn Ephesians 6:1 with a Song

We will visit Steve Green on YouTube for this verse. He has a lot of great songs that are based purely on Bible verses and you can easily learn a plethora of verses simply from buying his CDs alone.

Most of his songs repeat the same verse over and over which is perfect for memorization. This is how my children learned this verse and many more.

Tip of the Week

Practice the week’s verse multiple times each night – they are short verses, so it shouldn’t take long. Then to make sure you don’t forget the ones you already learned, pick one night a week when you review the older verses.
