Madonna

Perhaps the most famous religious convert, Madonna, was raised as a Roman Catholic and then converted to Kabbalah. Kabbalah is a Jewish tradition that is often translated as “mysticism” but involves gaining true inner knowledge and a close intimacy with God.

Zooey Deschanel

Hollywood starlet Zooey Deschanel was raised by parents who identified with Catholicism and the Quaker denomination. As an adult, Deschanel converted to Judaism as a “grand gesture” for her husband.
